The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially acknowledged receipt of a petition calling for the suspension of former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, and Kwasi Kwarteng, spokesperson for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
In a letter dated October 2, 2025, and signed by the party’s Director of Finance and Administration, William Yamoah, the NPP confirmed that the petition has been noted and will be referred to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for appropriate consideration in line with the party’s constitutional procedures.
“The content of your petition has been noted and shall be referred to the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) for appropriate consideration and further action per the Party’s constitutional procedures,” the statement read.
The party further assured the petitioners of its commitment to upholding its values and structures while appreciating their cooperation.
The petition, whose details were not disclosed in the letter, is expected to undergo NEC’s internal processes before any final decision is made regarding the two members.
The communication was copied to the Acting National Chairman and the General Secretary of the party.
