The Parliament Candidate for National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Akrofuom constituency of the Ashanti Region has refuted claims by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of taking credit for the degradation of roads in the Kubikwanto community.
Mr.Joseph Azumah, the PC, expressed his disdain for the NPP government’s attempt to falsely attribute a development they were not responsible for.
During his address to the community at an event welcoming the National Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Mr. Azumah revealed that he personally allocated Gh18,000 to improve the road conditions to make them more navigable for the residents.
He categorically stated, “It is a blatant falsehood that the NPP government was involved in the road grading.”
The PC encouraged the electorate to take into account the numerous advancements brought by the NDC to the area, including educational institutions and access to electricity, and to make a decision that would remove the incumbent MP from office.
Emphasizing that the current MP does not prioritize the development of the area, Mr. Azumah urged the voters to support him.
He declared that the era of blind loyalty to a political party is over and called on the electorate to support his candidacy.
In a message of solidarity, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia urged the voters to reinstate the NDC in power to ensure the continuity of ongoing development projects.
He cautioned them against being swayed by the NPP’s attempts to influence them through the distribution of items such as Maggie cubes, Enigma syringes, and rice.
Nana Agyenim Boateng, the Chief of the Kubikwanto community, called on the NDC to address various developmental needs once they assume power, including providing scholarships for students, constructing classroom blocks, and improving the road infrastructure.
