The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed receipt of a petition lodged against its Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

In a letter signed by the party’s Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. William Yamoah, the petition was formally acknowledged and referred to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for consideration in line with the party’s constitutional processes.

“The content of your petition has been noted and shall be referred to the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) for appropriate consideration and further action per the Party’s constitutional procedures,” the statement read.

The petition was submitted by Hon. Kwesi Poku Bosompem, Chairman of the Tema West Constituency. While the details of the grievances raised against Chairman Wontumi were not disclosed in the letter, the party assured that due process will be followed.

The leadership of the NPP expressed appreciation for the cooperation of members and reiterated its commitment to upholding the values and structures of the party.

The correspondence was copied to the Acting National Chairman and the General Secretary of the party.
