A nursery pupil identified as Daniel has died in a tragic accident after a lumber truck lost control and spilled its load at Aburaso, near Adugyama, in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, when a heavy-duty truck loaded with lumber, with registration number GE 9901-11, reportedly lost balance while in motion.
The logs tumbled off the vehicle, trapping three schoolchildren who were walking home from school.
According to eyewitnesses, Daniel was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bechem Hospital, while two other children who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the same facility.
“Daniel and two other pupils were walking home from school when the truck’s logs suddenly fell, crushing them,” an eyewitness recounted. “Unfortunately, Daniel didn’t survive.”
The heartbreaking incident has thrown the Aburaso community into mourning, as residents struggle to come to terms with the sudden loss of the young pupil.
Police have since taken over the accident scene, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash and whether the truck driver adhered to road safety regulations.
