The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has rebuked the Bono Regional Minister for what he described as undue political interference in the Sampa chieftaincy dispute.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II made the remarks on Monday during the final Asanteman Council meeting for 2025, held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The Asantehene noted that the Regional Minister, who is a lawyer, has a personal interest in the Sampa chieftaincy matter and warned that such an interest makes it inappropriate for him to involve himself in the dispute using his political office.

He stressed that chieftaincy matters must be handled by the appropriate traditional authorities and legal processes, adding that he would not permit any individual to exploit a political position to interfere in such sensitive traditional affairs.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions surrounding the Sampa chieftaincy dispute, which has remained unresolved for some time.
