Former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti region Kwabena Owusu Aduomi has fully returned to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) unconditionally after a successful meeting with the party’s Council of Elders in charge of the Ashanti region.
The Meeting held on 5th August 2024 was upon the party’s Council of Elder’s invitation for frank discussions about issues that led to his decision to contest the by-election as independent candidate with the former deputy road minister.
Press statement released by the party said” Aduom has forgiven the party and has fully returned to the party to continue his good work for the party’’.
The former deputy road minister broke away from the party after the demise of former deputy finance minister and Member of Parliament for the Ejiusu Constituency, John Ampotuah Kumah who died on 8th March 2024.
He contested the Electoral Commission’s (EC) Parliamentary by-election as an Independent Candidate and lost to the NPP’s candidate Kwabena Boateng.
Kwabena Boateng won the election with 27,782 representing 55.8% against Kwabena Owusu Aduomi 21,534 representing 43.3%.
The outcome of the electoral results despite all the government intimidation against unresourced Aduomi. This compelled the party council of elders to intervene to avoid another contest from the popular Kwabene Owusu Aduomi who has been tip to win the 2024 Parliamentary elections in Ejisu if he contests as an independent candidate again.

Speaking to www.Kumasimail.com aid to the former Ejisu MP and a member of his campaign team Dominic Owusu confirmed his boss is no longer interested in the upcoming general election and his campaign team members have been communicated to redirect their loyalty to the party.
