The Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Kwabena Yandoh, has come to the defence of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) Sammy Gyamfi, describing him as the best-performing chief executive officer so far in the ruling NDC Government and cautioning against what he called unfounded allegations that could undermine his work.
Speaking on the alleged Kojo Oppong Nkrumah GoldBod operational losses on Onua FM, monitored by Kumasi Mail, fanny Paul Yandoh said Sammy Gyamfi’s performance in office has been commendable and should be assessed based on results rather than accusations that have not been substantiated.
He argued that persistent criticism without evidence risks demoralising public officials who are delivering on their mandates.
“Sammy Gyamfi is the best performing CEO so far, and we should not kill his spirit with unfounded allegations,” Yandoh said. “He has demonstrated commitment and competence, and it is only fair that his work is judged objectively.”
The Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Secretary hopeful urged stakeholders and the public to allow due process to take its course where concerns are raised, stressing that allegations should be backed by facts and addressed through the appropriate institutions.
He added that constructive criticism, rather than what he described as politically motivated attacks, would better serve the national interest.
His comments come amid growing public discussion surrounding Gyamfi’s leadership, with differing views emerging from political actors and sections of the public.
While critics have raised questions about aspects of Gyamfi’s work, supporters insist his record shows strong performance and dedication.
The NPP communicator reaffirmed the party’s commitment to accountability and transparency, but maintained that officials who are performing well deserve encouragement and fairness as they carry out their duties.
