The Member of Parliament for Old-Tafo constituency, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Esq. has expressed concerns about the constant unsubstantiated allegations against Parliamentarians, describing it as unacceptable.
In an interview with Kwame Adinkrah on Kumasi-based Pure FM, Monitored by www.kumasimail.com, the Tafo MP. explained that people cannot just put anything out there without proving it.
“We are using perception and allegations to bruise Parliament’a image. We cannot allow this to fester.”
Hon. Assafuah advocated that Ghanaians, particularly the youth should debate politicians on issues rather than hurl insults and unsubstantiated claims against them on social media.
“I will be in Parliament this morning. Oliver Baker Vormawor must justify his claim.
If he is able to prove so, we will use the opportunity to clean Parliament. If he is unable to, we will whiten Parliament.
It is obnoxious for anyone to put uncorroborated claims on social media without any iota of proof.”
“We are not wiser than anybody. It is just an opportunity that has been afforded us.
Let us debate on issues. Let us learn from each other. I know my youth are endowed. They can engage in advance researches and others that we all as Parliamentarians and stakeholders can learn from.” Hon. Ekow Assafuah asserted.
