President-elect John Dramani Mahama condemns acts of lawlessness, calls for Unity and peace

President-Elect John Dramani Mahama address the nation against acts of Vandalism

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has issued a strong condemnation of recent acts of lawlessness, urging all citizens to maintain peace and unity during this transitional period.

In a statement addressing the nation, he emphasized the need to uphold democratic principles and called on security agencies to act decisively in maintaining law and order.

“I condemn, in no uncertain terms, these acts of lawlessness and demand that they cease immediately,” Mahama stated. He reiterated the importance of resolving grievances through lawful and constructive means, rather than resorting to violence or criminal activities.

Referring to his earlier remarks during a recent public address, he reminded citizens to avoid actions that could undermine the democratic process. “I urge everyone not to vent their frustrations through criminal enterprises. This is a time to rebuild trust, love, and decency among all Ghanaians,” Mahama said.

The President-elect also acknowledged ongoing investigations into certain incidents and assured citizens of his commitment to justice and accountability. He called on security agencies to act swiftly and decisively in restoring order, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent further disruption.

“As we transition to a new administration, let us demonstrate our resolve to rebuild Ghana based on unity and understanding. This is a moment for all of us to rise above divisions and work together for a better future,” he added.

President-elect Mahama also appealed to the outgoing administration to collaborate in ensuring a smooth transfer of power, highlighting the shared responsibility of fostering national stability.

whiles thanking Ghanaian citizens for their continued support and called for calm, he urging all to focus on rebuilding the nation with a spirit of solidarity.

The statement reflects Mahama’s commitment to preserving Ghana’s democratic integrity and ensuring a peaceful transition.
