The nation has come together to support victims of the recent devastating fire at Adum PZ and Blue Light in Kumasi.
The latest contribution comes from renowned business mogul Mr. Richard Nii-Armah Quaye and his team, who have donated a substantial GHC 500,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to aid the affected traders.
This significant donation was announced by Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, who expressed deep gratitude for the support.
The Minister took to social media to share the news, highlighting the community’s unwavering commitment to helping those in need.
The Minister posted on Facebook “Mr Richard Nii-Armah Quaye and his team called on me this afternoon and has made a donation of Ghc 500,000 and 1000 bags Cement, to Adum PZ fire Victims”.
The fire, which ravaged several businesses, left many traders facing significant financial losses and uncertainty about their future.
However, the outpouring of support from local philanthropists and business leaders has provided a beacon of hope for the affected community.
Mr. Quaye’s donation is part of a broader effort to raise funds and resources for the victims. Previously, a businessman and philanthropist, Emmanuel Aboagye, also known as Aboagye Contractor, donated GH₵500,000 to assist traders whose shops were destroyed in a fire at the Central Business District in Kumasi.
These contributions demonstrate the region’s resilience and willingness to come together in times of crisis.
On March 20, 2025, a portion of the Adum Railways Market in Kumasi was engulfed by a raging fire, destroying goods worth millions of cedis.
The cause of this fire disaster remains unknown, leaving victims stranded in the market as they look to the government and philanthropists for support in rebuilding.
