Two chainsaw operators were killed at Bekawopa in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District in the Central Region after a tree unexpectedly fell on them while they were working.
The victims, identified as Yaw Asare, popularly known as Tompuu, and Eric Teteh, were reportedly cutting a different tree when another, unrelated one suddenly crashed down, fatally injuring both men.
Residents who witnessed the incident described the occurrence as unusual and speculated about possible spiritual causes.

According to community members, traditional leaders performed customary rites at the scene before the bodies were allowed to be moved. Police later retrieved the bodies and transported them for further examination.
The remains of the two men have since been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for autopsy and preservation, while investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
