The Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), U.S. Air Force General Dagvin Anderson, has met President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House in Accra to discuss bilateral security cooperation.

The meeting, held on February 23, 2026, was also attended by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Rolf Olson.
According to officials, discussions focused on the longstanding security partnership between Ghana and the United States, as well as their shared commitment to promoting peace, freedom and stability in the region.

Ghana and the United States have maintained close defence and security ties over the years, cooperating on military training, counterterrorism efforts and regional security initiatives.
The engagement underscores ongoing efforts by both countries to strengthen collaboration amid evolving security challenges in West Africa.
