Ghana international forward Inaki Williams was on target as Athletic Bilbao secured a 2-1 win over Racing Santander in a preseason friendly match.
The match took place at the Estadio Nuevo Lasesarre on Wednesday, with Williams opening the scoring for the Basque outfit in the 39th minute.
Athletic Bilbao went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead, and they extended their advantage early in the second half. Canales scored his team’s second goal just one minute into the second half, putting his side firmly in control of the match.
Racing Santander managed to pull one back in the 69th minute through Yeray Cabanzon, but it was too little, too late for the visitors. The game ended 2-1 in favor of Athletic Bilbao, with Williams’ goal proving to be a vital contribution to his team’s victory.
The Ghanaian international has been a key player for Athletic Bilbao since making his debut for the club in 2015. He was instrumental for the team last season and will be looking to make an impact once again in the upcoming campaign.
