An aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Isham Bonsu, has expressed appreciation to party executives, members and supporters across the region for their roles in the party’s recent electoral efforts, describing their collective contribution as critical to the NDC’s performance.
In a New Year message issued to party faithful, Mr Bonsu called on members to reflect on the past year, praising the dedication, sacrifice and teamwork demonstrated across all levels of the party’s organisational structure.
He paid tribute to the Ashanti Regional Secretarial Department, noting that its administrative and coordination work provided a strong foundation for the party’s activities.
He also commended the Regional Communications Department for what he described as effective messaging and public relations that helped project the NDC’s policies to a wider national audience.
Mr Bonsu described the Regional Treasury Department as key to the party’s operations, acknowledging its financial stewardship and resource mobilisation, which he said sustained campaign activities.
He further praised the Regional Youth Department for injecting energy, innovation and enthusiasm into the campaign, helping to extend the party’s reach across the region.
The NDC chairman hopeful also lauded the Regional Women’s Wing for its grassroots mobilisation and community engagement, particularly among market women, farmers and households. According to him, their efforts played a significant role in ensuring that women understood and connected with the policy proposals of former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC.
He highlighted the contribution of the Regional Zongo Caucus, commending its leadership for sustained engagement with Zongo communities and for strengthening the party’s support base among diverse groups.
Mr Bonsu reserved special praise for constituency executives, describing them as the frontline of the party’s work. He said their responsiveness, commitment and round-the-clock efforts were instrumental in achieving electoral success.
He also acknowledged the support of party financiers at all levels, thanking them for their contributions in cash and kind.
The Elections Directorate was commended for its technical expertise and data-driven approach, which Mr Bonsu said provided timely and accurate insights that strengthened the party’s electoral strategy.
He further praised branch executives and ward coordinators for their grassroots mobilisation, describing them as the backbone of the campaign.
Mr Bonsu also extended gratitude to party sympathisers and supporters, saying their votes, prayers and voluntary support contributed significantly to the party’s achievements.
He concluded by wishing party members a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, urging them to remain united, committed to the party’s vision and focused on strengthening the NDC’s fortunes in the Ashanti Region going forward.
