A touching story has emerged from a hospital in Ghana where a young mother of triplets is fighting for her life just a month after giving birth.
According to a midwife on duty, the woman, who delivered three baby boys through a Cesarean section, was rushed to the hospital in severe respiratory distress and has since been placed on oxygen.
She has also been diagnosed with severe preeclampsia, a life-threatening condition that affects blood pressure during pregnancy, and is currently receiving magnesium sulphate treatment.
Her husband an electrician has reportedly been doing everything possible to care for his wife and their newborns.
The midwife noted that the man has spent all his savings on medical bills and baby essentials following the difficult delivery.
“The husband isn’t lazy or irresponsible. He’s been making calls, pleading for help wherever he can. But after the C-section, the hospital costs, and now caring for triplets, life has become overwhelming,” Wendy Ofori Boatemaa explain in Facebook post.
The situation has become so dire that even feeding the babies has become a struggle. “The babies didn’t have food today — we had to buy them a tin of Nan,” the midwife added.
As the mother continues her fight for recovery, I am appealing to all kind-hearted individuals and organizations to come to the aid of this struggling family.
All three babies are boys, and every little support will make a difference in their lives.
