A 33-year-old mobile money vendor, Augustine Mensah, has been brutally murdered at Manso-Asaman in the Ashanti Region.
Mensah, a resident of Manso Yawkrom, was reportedly attacked by unidentified assailants on his way home after work.
According to eyewitness accounts, he had received a call from a customer for a late transaction just before closing.
Moments later, he was ambushed, stabbed, and subsequently shot to death.
Some residents suspect Mensah may have engaged in a brief altercation with his attackers before his tragic demise.
However, others believe it was a targeted attack, as he was widely known to be a peaceful and well-respected member of the community.

His wife, Sakina Iddrisu, who is now left to care for their two-year-old son, expressed shock over the incident. She insisted her husband had no known conflicts with anyone.
“He is the only one who knows what led to this. No one can tell except him and God,” she lamented.
Recounting the harrowing experience, Sakina said she was at home when she received a distressing call directing her to the Danyame River side. Upon arrival, she was informed that her husband had been rushed to St. Martin’s Hospital in Agroyesum. When she got there, she was met with the heartbreaking sight of his lifeless body.
The case has since been reported to the police, who have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to assist in the investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
