The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man captured in a viral video allegedly discharging a firearm at a public event at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
In a statement issued on December 30, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said the suspect was arrested by its Cyber Vetting Team after investigations into the widely circulated footage, which showed a man firing a gun during an event held on December 28, 2025.

The suspect has been identified as Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as “Cyborg.” Police said he was arrested on December 29, 2025, at Adenta in connection with the possession and discharge of a firearm.
According to the CID, a Derya MK-12 firearm bearing registration number 22-GHA-1162 was retrieved from the suspect and has been secured as evidence to aid ongoing investigations.

Police indicated that the suspect is currently in custody and assisting with investigations. He is expected to be put before a court to face justice.
The Ghana Police Service also used the occasion to caution the public, stressing that the possession of a registered firearm does not grant the holder the right to discharge it indiscriminately. The police warned that firearm licences could be revoked and offenders prosecuted under the law.
The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department.
