The Concerned Farmers Association of Ghana (CFAG) has assured cocoa farmers that efforts are underway to ensure timely payments, following a meeting with the Cocoa Marketing Board (COCOBOD) last Friday.
In a statement released on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, CFAG President Nana Oboadie Boateng Bonsu said the COCOBOD CEO confirmed that directives from the Finance Ministry have been issued to prioritize payments to farmers.
The association urged farmers to remain patient as the payments are being processed.
The statement also cautioned political parties, specifically the NDC and NPP, against politicizing cocoa-related issues. “Anyone inciting farmers will face consequences,” the statement warned.
CFAG’s announcement comes amid ongoing concerns over delays in cocoa farmer payments, a critical issue for Ghana’s agricultural sector and rural livelihoods.
