A tragic fire outbreak at Atonsu-Ginayse in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region has claimed the lives of a 35-year-old nurse, Linda Kusi, and her three children over the weekend.
The devastating incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
According to eyewitness accounts, the victims a 14-year-old boy, a 10-year-old boy, and a 4-year-old girl—were asleep when the fire broke out.
Residents who noticed the flames attempted to intervene, but their efforts were thwarted when a gas cylinder inside the house exploded, intensifying the blaze and trapping the family inside.
Expressing their sorrow, residents described the incident as a heartbreaking loss for the community.
The charred remains of Linda Kusi and her children have been transported to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for preservation.
Ghana National Fire service has commenced investigation into the matter.
