The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the region.
The police are still pursuing a fourth suspect, who is currently on the run.
According to the Ashanti Regional police Commander DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, the first incident occurred on February 13, 2025, at Krofrom, where the victim, Patricia Nimako, was fatally attacked, and a sum of money was stolen.
The second incident also took place on March 10, 2025, when Gideon Owusu Sarpong, also known as “Junior,” was robbed and murdered at his residence in Kwadaso.
Following investigations, the police arrested three individuals suspected to be involved in the crimes.

The suspects have been identified as Charles Kwame Danso, 23, alias “Kwame Charles” or “Miami,” Philip Foujour, 29, and Samuel Audae Mensah, 42.
The arrests were carried out on March 21, 2025, at different locations, including Pankrono and Atimatim.
The police confirmed that the suspects are in custody and will be arraigned before court soon.
He said the police command are also actively searching for the fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, alias “Baba Macho”, who is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, or Diaso in the Central Region or Accra.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police and Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, has appealed to the public for assistance in locating the fugitive. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the police via the toll-free numbers 191 or 112 (MTN and Telecel).
“The Ashanti Regional Police Command remains committed to ensuring justice is served,” the statement read, urging residents to remain vigilant and support law enforcement efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
