The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, has dismissed allegations linking him to a widely circulated video purported to implicate him in internal party controversies.
In a statement issued on Kwame Baffoe described the video as “doctored” and alleged that it was produced and circulated by supporters of presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong.
He criticized the party’s national leadership for failing to publicly condemn what he called “false claims.”
“It is rather unfortunate that the National Party would even respond to such a doctored tape authored in Kennedy Agyapong’s camp,” he said.
“I have not said anywhere that some names will be removed from the current album.”
Mr. Baffoe further accused Mr. Agyapong of attempting to sow negativity within the party in the lead-up to the presidential primaries.
“Kennedy Agyapong has been very bleak on the party’s downfall and wants to profess some form of negativity with the said doctored video prior to his impending defeat,” he stated.
He urged party members and supporters to disregard the video, which he described as part of a deliberate smear campaign.
The controversy comes as the NPP intensifies internal campaigning ahead of its upcoming presidential primaries, where tensions between rival camps have heightened in recent weeks.
