Accra Golden Lions Club supports Suntreso Gov’t Hospital Children’s ward

The Accra Golden Lions Club has extended its humanitarian service to children on admission at the Suntreso Government Hospital in Kumasi.

The Club, led by its President , Lion Sampson Wolanyo Deklu donated toys and other items to the hospital.

In a world where a simple act of kindness can make all the difference, the Accra Golden Lions Club has embarked on a heartwarming mission _ project 1000 Toys.

This Presidential initiative aims to bring smiles to the faces of underprivileged children by distributing 1,000 toys to brighten their lives.

With the belief that every child deserves joy, the club has called on members, partners, and the community to come together in support of this Noble cause.

The initiative is not just about giving toys but also about spreading hope, love, and a sense of belonging among children who may not have access to such simple joys.

As donations pour in, volunteers are working tirelessly to ensure that such toy reaches a deserving child.

Whether it’s a tedy bear to hug at night, a puzzle to challenge the mind , or a doll to share stories with, each gift carries with it a message of care compassion.

The President of the Accra Golden Lion Club, Lion Sampson Wolanyo Deklu, reiterated their commitment towards healthcare delivery in the country.

He said project 1000 toys initiative is a laudable initiative and has contributed towards healthcare delivery in where they have reached.

He said ,the Accra Golden Lion Club, a member of Lions International District 418, Ghana, remains committed to making a lasting impact in the community.

” Through initiatives like project 1000 toys and others ,we continue to exemplify our motto, ” we serve”.

With every toy handed out, a moment of happiness is created , a dream is nurtured , and a brighter future is envisioned.

As the project unfolds, the hope is that many more hands will join in, ensuring that no child is left without a reason to smile.

Receiving the items, Paediatric Nurse Specialist, Lilian Kolbila was grateful to Accra Golden Lions Club and promised to make good use of the items.

She also applauded the Club for the donation, which she noted ,would be useful and also put smiles on the faces of th3 children.

She raised concerns about the rate at which patients and their relatives who are yet to settle their service debts are absconding from the facility.

According to her, patients and their relatives who often arrange with management to have an undertaking to enable them defer the settlement of their debt do not fulfil their part of the bargain and often abscond from the hospital unceremoniously.

“We are contacting the medical social workers unit so that they can be evaluated to see whether they can pay or cannot. And whether they want to have an undertaking to defer payments to another date, they don’t do that. And patients just disappear from the wards without paying their bills, and it’s causing a lot of loss to the hospital “, she bemoaned.

She said management is working around the clock to ensure that security at the hospital is tightened.

“Security around the hospital is also a contributory factor, we hope to tighten security so that such things are minimised “, she said.
