The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asawase Constituency has suspended four of its branch-level executives for engaging in conduct that violates the party’s code of conduct.
The suspended members Murtala Muhammed, Farida Mohammed, Aminu Issah, and Salisu Sanusi were cited in a viral video making derogatory remarks about the President, the party’s National Executive Committee, and the nominated Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong.
In a statement signed by the Asawase Constituency Secretary, the party announced that the suspensions take immediate effect and that the affected individuals have been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee for further investigation and action.
The statement detailed the roles of the individuals involved: Murtala Muhammed is the Branch Youth Organizer for Malam Kataki; Farida Mohammed serves as the Branch Women’s Organizer for Malam Ladan; Aminu Issah and Salisu Sanusi are Branch Communications Officers for Methodist Home Science JSS 2 and Methodist JSS, respectively.
“This conduct directly contravenes the NDC’s code of conduct and threatens the unity and discipline that underpin the party’s operations,” the statement noted. “The Asawase Constituency Executive Committee is committed to safeguarding the integrity of the party and will not tolerate behavior that undermines its values.”
The Constituency Executive Committee also urged party members to uphold respect and unity as the NDC works toward achieving its broader goals.
“We call on all members to remain respectful, united, and focused on the collective mission of promoting the NDC’s vision,” the statement concluded.
