The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, in partnership with the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious Ghana (CMSR-GH), is set to host an Environmental Prayer Walk Against Galamsey on October 11, 2024, at 10 AM.
The event will commence at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Adabraka and conclude at Christ the King Parish in Cantonment, featuring a procession where participants will pray the Rosary.
This initiative aims to unite Ghanaians in prayer and action against illegal mining, known as galamsey, which severely impacts the environment.
Over 50 organizations are expected to join, culminating in a petition delivery to key national leaders, including President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Participants are encouraged to bring water and support the event’s coordination.
All clergy and lay faithful are urged to attend, reinforcing their commitment to environmental stewardship and community welfare.
