Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate of the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer has warned voters in Afram Plains North in the Eastern Region against casting their ballots for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He said continuous voting for the NDC will delay the development of Donkorkrom.
According to him, the NDC lacks a genuine commitment to the development of the region, and any vote for the party would essentially be wasted.
Addressing the chiefs, community members, Zongo chiefs and party members, he emphasized that only the NPP has the best interest of Ghanaians at heart.
He further pointed out that despite voting massively for the NDC in past elections, the opposition party consistently neglects the area’s needs whenever they are in power. NAPO expressed his disappointment at the NDC’s discriminatory attitude towards the people of Afram Plains.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate insisted that the NPP has consistently proven to be an all-inclusive party that does not discriminate.
Dr. Prempeh, as part of the campaign tour also commissioned the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) machines in Afram Plains North.
During the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Prempeh called on the people of Afram Plains to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s Presidential Candidate, on December 7.
He emphasized that this decision is crucial for maintaining the current developmental trajectory of the constituency and the country as a whole. The introduction of the DRIP machines he said is a testament to Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth.
NAPO assured them that voting for Dr Bawumia is electing a leader who will steer Ghana forward by implementing transformative policies to enhance the country’s development.
Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Jeffery Ohene Konadu, appealed to the chiefs and residents of the area to change their decision and vote for the NPP this time.
He bemoaned the fact that the people denied him access to parliament in 2012 to bring the needed developments despite being a son of the land, but he will continue and will support the parliamentary candidate to bring the needed development to the area.
