f0e0e764 58b3 49e2 be10 354b1fb571b2Flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have completed the ballot draw to determine their positions on the ballot paper ahead of the party’s highly anticipated presidential primary, set for January 31, 2026.

The ballot exercise took place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the NPP headquarters in Accra.

Former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, secured the coveted number one spot, positioning him at the top of the ballot paper.

Following closely, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Minister of Agriculture, was drawn to occupy the second position.

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia gained the third slot, while Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, MP for Bosomtwe and former Education Minister, and Kwabena Agyepong, former General Secretary of the party, were assigned the fourth and fifth positions respectively.

The entire ballot process was meticulously overseen by the NPP National Elections Committee, adhering strictly to the party’s internal electoral guidelines established on July 29, 2025.

This step marks a significant milestone as the party prepares for its crucial presidential primary election early next year.
