Court remands Ebo Noah for 2 weeks over False ‘End of World’ claims, ordered for mental evaluation
Share on WhatsApp

The Circuit Court in Adenta has remanded Eshun Evans, popularly known as Ebo Noah, a 33-year-old private security guard, into police custody for the next two weeks.

Ebo Noah was arraigned before the Court, presided over by Her Honour Angela Attachie, on the charge of publication of false news with the intent to cause fear and panic, contrary to Section 76 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775).

The Court has also ordered Ebo Noah to undergo a psychiatric examination at any of the government psychiatric facilities before the next court date, January 15.

The brief facts of the case were that, the complainant is the Ghana Police Service, while the accused, Evans Eshun @ Ebo Noah, is a private security guard in Accra.

The prosecution said between August 2025 and December 2025, the accused published several videos on his Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube accounts under the name @Ebonoah.

In these videos, the accused falsely claimed that the world would be destroyed by a flood on December 25, 2025, (last), and that he was constructing an Ark to accommodate persons who wished to be saved.

The prosecution said Ebo Noah was arrested at his hideout at Weija-Gbawe in the Greater Accra Region on December 31, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation.

In his investigation caution statement, Ebo Noah admitted to making and circulating the videos on social media.

However, he stated that the boat he referred to as an “ark” in the videos did not belong to him but rather to a fisherman at a boat yard in Edina in the Central Region of Ghana.

The prosecution said Ebo Noah admitted that his claims were false and acknowledged that there was no impending flood intended to destroy the world, but all were his own fabrications.

The prosecution said investigations are yet to be completed. The case has been adjourned to January 15.
