Deputy Defence Minister, Ernest Brogya Genfi has chaired two high-level meetings at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, reaffirming government’s commitment to supporting the institution and strengthening Ghana’s role in international peacekeeping.
In a statement shared on social media, the deputy minister said he chaired the 3rd High-Level Meeting and the Governing Board Meeting of the Centre on behalf of the Acting Minister for Defence, Cassiel Ato Forson.

According to him, the meetings brought together international partners and stakeholders of the Centre for what he described as an “open, frank and fruitful engagement” on its operations and future development.
Mr. Genfi said he expressed appreciation to the Centre’s international partners for their continued support and assured them of the government’s commitment to review central funding support to ensure the sustainability of the institution.
He also commended the Commandant of the Centre, David Akrong, and the management staff for what he described as measures put in place to sustain the Centre.

The deputy minister noted that the meetings reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to maintaining the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre as a hub for regional and global security cooperation and peacekeeping training.
