TDC Ghana Ltd has held a passing-out ceremony for its first cohort of national service personnel who completed a two-week military training programme aimed at promoting discipline and professionalism among young graduates.
The ceremony, held at 1st Battalion of Infantry, Michel Camp, brought together officials from the National Service Authority, the Ghana Armed Forces and management of TDC Ghana Ltd to celebrate the achievement of 40 trainees.
Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, who was the guest of honour, commended the company for what she described as a forward-looking initiative.
She also announced plans by the Authority to increase the number of national service personnel posted to TDC Ghana Ltd for the 2026/2027 service year.
Madam Seddoh further disclosed that the Authority is considering making military training mandatory for all national service personnel nationwide by July 2026, explaining that the move is intended to instil discipline, patriotism and a stronger sense of national responsibility among graduates.
The trainees underwent drills and practical training in areas such as first aid, fire safety, protection of life and property, communication and teamwork.
The programme, according to organisers, was designed to strengthen both physical readiness and character development.
Managing Director of TDC Ghana Ltd, Courage K. M. Nunekpeku, said the initiative forms part of the company’s broader effort to promote discipline, integrity and professionalism within the organisation.
He added that all future national service personnel posted to the company would undergo similar military training as part of their orientation, noting that the programme is aimed at building a disciplined and value-driven workforce.
The ceremony ended with a call for stronger collaboration between public institutions to help develop responsible and service-oriented young professionals capable of contributing to national development.
