The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged party members and constituents in Afrancho-Akomadan, Offinso North Constituency of the Ashanti Region, to prioritize policies and long-term development over financial incentives when casting their votes.
Addressing supporters on the first day of the NDC’s Retail Campaign in the Ashanti Region on Monday, November 4, Asiedu Nketiah emphasized the risks of accepting money in exchange for votes.
He warned that such decisions could lead to setbacks in community progress, as they compromise the possibility of sustainable development.
“Choosing short-term gains over policies that drive meaningful development harms the community’s future,” he stated.
“If our resources are diverted to offering monetary incentives instead of development projects, we hinder true progress. Why should we prioritize such short-term gains over long-term benefits?”
Asiedu Nketiah pointed out that while the opposition may attempt to sway voters with financial inducements, these short-lived benefits do little to address the constituency’s genuine needs.
He called on voters to support candidates dedicated to sustainable growth and effective governance.
“Those who fail to recognize the development projects the NDC has implemented in the Ashanti Region are simply overlooking their benefits,” he added.
“Our projects benefit everyone. If the opposition distributes money based on status rather than investing in real community development and voters choose them, we are left with no choice but to reconsider our approach.”
Asiedu Nketiah’s message reflects the NDC’s appeal for informed voting, encouraging constituents to evaluate the impact of their choices on the community’s future.
The Retail Campaign tour continues in the Ashanti Region, where party leaders aim to build support by engaging voters on policy-focused dialogues.
