Engineers & Planners Limited has paid the first instalment of its $5 million pledge to support the Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
At a brief presentation ceremony on Thursday, Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, announced that the company had transferred $2 million into a dedicated fund established for the team’s preparations.
He described the contribution as symbolic but significant, highlighting its role in encouraging greater private sector participation in national sports development.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of Dzata Group Holdings, Ibrahim Mahama, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting national initiatives, particularly in sports.
“This is just the beginning of that support to the country, and as time goes on, we will ensure that we redeem the remaining balance that we have promised,” he said.
The financial support forms part of broader efforts to mobilise private sector resources to strengthen the Black Stars’ preparations for the 2026 tournament, which will be hosted in the United States.
