Former MP Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a strong warning against any threats or intimidation ahead of the NPP Presidential primaries set for January 31, 2026.
Speaking at the NPP USA Chapter, Agyapong underscored his commitment to party unity while making clear that he will not tolerate any attempts to turn the party into a personal domain.
In his address, Agyapong emphasized that his actions are motivated by a desire to preserve harmony within the party and not out of fear or cowardice.
He reminded attendees of the sacrifices made by party members both in Ghana and abroad, noting the loss of lives and property in the struggle for the NPP’s ideals.
“Let them know who started NPP USA,” Agyapong declared. “We are not cowards and will not allow any individual to take NPP as his personal property. Whether here or in Ghana, that will never happen.
“People have died for NPP. People were killed. People lost their property. They lost everything here. Where were they? Where were they? And today, they have the guts to call people and threatens them,” he added.
He highlighted the importance of free and fair elections within the party, stressing that no one should be intimidated during the electoral exercise.
Reflecting on past experiences, he stated, “Even when they were in power, they could not intimidate me, and it won’t happen now.”
Acknowledging the need for unity, Agyapong said he has “swallowed his pride” but warned against underestimating him.
“We all have a voice and speak like men. So, if you are here and you are a chapter chairman, be bold.”
