Supporters of Josuah Alarbi say he is preparing to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential race again, according to members of his campaign team in the Ashanti Region.
The announcement followed a closed-door meeting with selected senior journalists in Kumasi, where members of the team discussed plans for Mr Alarbi’s expected political comeback and upcoming engagements with the media.
Sources close to the campaign say the former aspirant is expected to intensify consultations across the country in the coming months as part of efforts to build support within the ruling party ahead of the next internal contest.
The meeting is also said to have focused on communication strategies and media outreach as the camp seeks to strengthen its visibility within the NDC.
According to individuals familiar with the discussions, some members of the campaign team view key figures within the party, including Chief of Staff Julius Debrah and NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, as influential contenders likely to shape the direction of the race.
However, there has been no official response from Mr Debrah, Mr Asiedu Nketia or the NDC leadership regarding the claims made during the meeting.
Political analysts say the early discussions signal what could become an increasingly competitive internal contest within the NDC as the party begins positioning itself for future national elections.
Mr Alarbi is yet to formally announce his candidacy, but members of his team insist preparations are already underway.
More details are expected to emerge following his planned engagements with journalists and party supporters in the Ashanti Region.
