President John Dramani Mahama has visited two Ghanaian survivors of a recent terrorist attack in Burkina Faso who are receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The two were among a group of Ghanaian tomato traders travelling by truck when they were ambushed by armed men.

According to officials, the attackers reportedly separated the men from the rest of the passengers before killing them and setting the vehicle on fire.
Seven Ghanaians were killed in the incident. They have since been buried. The survivors were transported back to Ghana by the Ghana Armed Forces and are receiving medical care and counselling.

President Mahama visited the injured traders on Wednesday after returning from an official assignment in Takoradi. He was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah.
During the visit, the president expressed his condolences and assured the survivors that the government would cover their medical expenses.
The 37 Military Hospital has confirmed that the injured are responding to treatment. Authorities say psychological support is also being provided to help them cope with the trauma.

The government has not yet announced further measures in response to the attack, which has raised concerns about the safety of cross-border trade routes in the region.
