MTN Ghana Foundation in partnership with the National Blood Bank has organized a nationwide blood donation exercise.
Under a campaign themed “MTN Save A Life,” the goal is to collect over 6,000 units of blood to restock the National Blood Bank and the blood banks of regional and teaching hospitals across the country.
In the Northern Region, the Foundation partnered with the blood unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco) and Northern School of Business Senior High School (Nobisco) to undertake the exercise.
At the Tamasco campus, hundreds of students who understood the importance of giving blood to the sick donated their blood when our Northern Regional Editor visited in the early hours of Friday.

Some of the students described the process as “simple and lasting less than an hour.” They encouraged their mates who had never donated blood before to take part in the initiative.
“MTN Save A Life” is an initiative held on February 14th every year. It provides opportunity for members of the general public and MTN staff across the country to donate blood to regional and teaching hospitals.
