The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the release of PIN codes for 9,082 trained teachers from 24 Colleges of Education across Ghana to commence registration for the 2025/2026 National Service Year.
In a press release dated February 14, 2025, the NSA disclosed that a total of 16,159 trained teachers were submitted by 36 Colleges of Education for enrollment in the National Service program.
However, 7,077 trained teachers have yet to be uploaded due to their respective institutions’ failure to provide the required cover letters.
A key concern raised in the statement is that out of the 9,082 successfully uploaded teachers, 5,336 belong to institutions with expired accreditation, leaving only 3,746 from institutions with active accreditation as recognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
The report further indicates that out of the 36 Colleges of Education, only 14 currently have valid accreditation, while 22 institutions have expired accreditation status.
To ensure compliance and transparency, the NSA has stated that registrations for prospective service personnel from institutions with expired accreditation will be put on hold until their accreditation status is regularized with GTEC.
The authority has urged the affected Colleges of Education to engage with GTEC promptly to renew their accreditation, facilitating PIN code activation and registration for students.
PIN Code Access and Registration
Prospective service personnel can access their PIN codes through the NSA portal (www.nss.gov.gh). After obtaining their PIN codes, they must proceed with payment as follows:
- GHS 40 – Payment at any ADB branch
- GHS 41 – Payment via Mobile Money (MOMO)
This payment activates the PIN code, allowing candidates to proceed with their registration. The registration period is open from February 14, 2025, and will close on February 28, 2025.
The NSA has advised all prospective personnel to complete their registration within the stipulated period to avoid delays in deployment.
