NAPO urges Afram Plains voters to shift allegiance for Development

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 elections, has called on voters in Afram Plains North to reconsider their voting patterns and support the NPP for accelerated development in the region.

Addressing a gathering of chiefs, community members, Zongo leaders, and party supporters in Donkorkrom, Dr. Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, warned that continued loyalty to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would only delay the area’s progress.

According to NAPO, despite years of overwhelming support for the NDC in previous elections, the party has consistently neglected the developmental needs of the Afram Plains. He described the NDC’s commitment to the region as lacking, and cautioned that votes for the party would amount to a missed opportunity for real progress.

“I’m surprised and disappointed by the NDC’s continued neglect of the Afram Plains despite your unwavering support over the years. A vote for them is a vote for delayed development. The NPP, on the other hand, has demonstrated its dedication to improving the lives of Ghanaians, and Afram Plains is no exception,” NAPO stated.

As part of the NPP’s campaign tour, NAPO commissioned the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) machines in Afram Plains North. He emphasized that these machines were a testament to the NPP’s commitment to infrastructure development, spearheaded by the party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

NAPO urged constituents to cast their ballots for Dr. Bawumia in the December 7 elections, stressing that only the NPP could maintain the current developmental trajectory of the region. He assured the people that voting for the NPP would be voting for transformative leadership capable of addressing the region’s challenges and enhancing Ghana’s overall development.

“The introduction of these DRIP machines is only the beginning. Dr. Bawumia’s administration will ensure that Afram Plains and the entire nation experience significant infrastructure development and economic growth,” NAPO added.

Echoing his sentiments, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Jeffery Ohene Konadu, appealed to the chiefs and residents to vote for the NPP this time. He recalled his own unsuccessful bid for parliament in 2012 and the missed opportunity to bring the necessary development to the area, but reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NPP’s parliamentary candidate and the region’s development agenda.

“The people of Afram Plains deserve better, and it is time to make a change. Let us vote for progress and development,” Konadu urged.

Parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains North, Anim Asiamah, also highlighted various developmental projects initiated by the NPP and emphasized the party’s commitment to the region. He appealed to voters to support the NPP in the upcoming elections to ensure further growth and development.

The NPP’s appeal comes as part of its broader campaign to secure votes in traditionally NDC-stronghold areas by emphasizing the tangible results of its policies and the need for a new direction for regions like Afram Plains North.
