The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency, Amenorpe Philibert Fummey, has filed an action at the High Court in Accra to seek a restraining order against the Electoral Commission from collating and declaring the December 7 Parliamentary elections.
While raising concerns about the integrity of the process including incomplete pink sheets, he said the outcome would be compromised.
The action filed on Friday, December 13, 2024 at the High Court in Accra the NDC PC is seeking a “declaration that by reason of the absence, incomplete, and/or questionable nature of the pink sheets for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency, the integrity of the parliamentary elections for the Constituency is undermined.”
He is also asking the Court for a “declaration that the Electoral Commission cannot based on the incomplete and/or questionable collation forms, whose source is doubtful, declare a winner of the parliamentary elections conducted on 7th December 2024, for the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency.”
The NDC PC again want “An order directed at the Electoral Commission to organize a fresh parliamentary election for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency.
“An order of perpetual injunction restraining the Electoral Commission their assigns, agents, privies, servants, employees, workmen and any other person acting on their behalf from collating and declaring the parliamentary election results for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency.”
The action which has been fixed for hearing on December 20, name Frank Annoh Dompreh, the the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Parliamentary Candidate for the NPP for the 7th December, 2024 Parliamentary Elections as the first defendant.
While the Electoral Commission, the body established by the Constitution of Ghana to conduct public elections is the 2nd Defendant.
