Chairismata Steward Ministries, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has cut sod for the commencement of work on a six-unit classroom block with teachers’ bungalows at Atuuna in the Gensoso electoral area in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.

The project, when completed, will accommodate basic school students aged between 4 and 10 who walk several kilometers from Atuuna, Asaasekokoo, and Nsuhunu to access education in Awisa.

The project includes facilities such as a staff common room, washroom, football pitch, and other ancillary facilities.
The three-unit teachers’ bungalows will also accommodate six teachers to help them monitor students’ activities.

Miss Mercy B. Crawford, the Chief Executive Officer of Chairismata Steward Ministries, speaking at a brief ceremony held at Atuuna, explained that the project, when completed, would ensure easy access to education for pupils living in the Atuuna, Asaasekokoo, and Nsuhunu communities.
The project cost is estimated at almost GH¢800,000, she said.

Miss Crawford appealed to all to partner with the NGO by donating building materials such as bags of cement, stones, chippings, sand, water, iron rods, roofing sheets, wood, plywood, nails, foodstuffs, and other essentials to help achieve its goal.

The sod-cutting ceremony was graced by clergy members, representatives from the Ghana Education Service (GES), members of the Atuuna, Asaasekokoo, and Nsuhunu communities, and representatives from the Wenchi Traditional Council, led by the Ankobeahene, Nana Damoah Koasare.
