The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has invited Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to assist in investigations over allegations he made against former President John Dramani Mahama.
According to an official letter dated February 21, 2025, and signed by the Bono Regional Commander of the NIB, Mr. Kwaku Afari, Abronye is expected to meet with the Director of Investigations on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Kawukudu in the Greater Accra Region.
The invitation follows statements Abronye made during an interview on Movement TV’s “Movement in the Morning”, hosted by Kwaku Dawuro. During the interview, Abronye alleged that former President Mahama is hoarding GH¢550 million meant for dismissed appointees at Jubilee House.
He further accused Mahama’s administration of corruption in the recruitment and revocation processes.
The NIB has not provided additional details on the nature of the investigation but has urged the NPP regional chairman to assist in clarifying his claims.
Abronye is known for his outspoken political commentary, and this development adds to previous controversies surrounding his public statements. It remains to be seen whether he will honor the invitation and what further actions the NIB might take.
