Akwasi Addai Odike, a member of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, has launched a scathing attack on former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Odike accused Kufuor of supporting current President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo out of fear that his alleged corrupt evil dealings would be exposed.
“Kufuor is afraid of Akufo-Addo. Do you know why? He fears that his dirty secret deals will be exposed by Akufo-Addo if he speaks out against him”.
Odike criticized Kufuor for his silence during the sidelining of party figures Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong, suggesting that Kufuor’s complicity in Akufo-Addo’s actions stems from his own questionable past.
He said “When Akufo-Addo sidelined Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong, he(Kufuor) never uttered a word; instead, he supported Akufo-Addo in his fatuous activities.
Odike specifically pointed to the controversial 12% oil deal negotiated under his administration, questioning why Ghana received such a low percentage compared to Equatorial Guinea’s 49%.
“Equatorial Guinea has 49%, and we all operate in the same global market. The question is, why did the investors decide to give us only 12%, and why did Kufuor agree to sign off on this deal”, he ask.
Again, Odike asserted that Kufuor has betrayed the interests of Ghanaians and must prioritize national welfare over personal gain.
“Kufuor has shortchanged Ghanaians – it’s a fact. If the nation pays you monthly, and you fail to prioritize the nation’s interests above others, what response do you expect from us?”
