The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has disclosed that a sum of GH¢8,256,000 was deposited into an Ezwich account registered under the name of Osei-Assibey Antwi, the former Director General of the National Service Authority (NSA), during the 2022/2023 service year.

This information was unveiled during a press briefing held in Accra on Friday, as part of the ongoing investigations by the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) taskforce into alleged financial irregularities within the NSA.

Dr. Ayine confirmed that the funds were directly received by Osei-Assibey Antwi.

Furthermore, authorities recovered the Ezwich card linked to the account during a search conducted at the suspect’s residence.

Dr Ayine said “In the 2022/2023 service year, a total amount of eight million, two hundred and fifty-six thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢8,256,000) was credited to Ezwich account number 1177042059, registered in the name of suspect Osei Assibey.

“Our investigations have established that he personally accessed these funds. The Ezwich card associated with this account was also seized during a search of his home,” Dr. Ayine added.
