Osei Richmond, a hopeful for the Ashanti Regional Organizer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated all newly elected constituency executives in the Ashanti Region following the party’s national constituency elections held over the weekend.
He has called on candidates who were unsuccessful in the elections to accept the outcome in good faith and support the newly elected executives to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and secure another overwhelming victory in the 2028 general elections.
In an interview with KumasiMail.com, Osei Richmond stressed that unity, cooperation and a shared commitment to the party’s objectives were essential to building a formidable political force capable of retaining power in 2028.
He noted that the NDC’s strength lies in its grassroots structures, urging all party members, particularly those who contested various executive positions, to put aside their differences and work collectively towards achieving the party’s electoral ambitions.
According to him, internal elections should not be viewed as a source of division but as an opportunity to renew the party’s leadership, strengthen its organisational capacity and deepen its engagement with the grassroots.
“The strength of our great party lies in the unity of our grassroots. Now that the elections are over, we must all come together, put our differences aside and work hard to advance the collective agenda of the NDC,” he said.
Mr. Richmond encouraged defeated candidates to recognise that although they might not have secured the positions they contested, their experience, commitment and contributions remained valuable to the party.
He urged them to extend their support to the newly elected executives and contribute meaningfully to the party’s mobilisation efforts across the region.
He further emphasised that the task ahead required the collective efforts of all members, insisting that personal ambitions must give way to the broader interest of the NDC.
Commitment to work with constituency executives
The Ashanti Regional Organizer hopeful also assured the newly elected constituency executives, particularly the constituency organisers, of his readiness to work closely with them should he be elected to lead the party’s regional organising efforts.
He said his vision was to build a strong, united and effective regional party structure that would empower constituency executives, energise the grassroots and improve mobilisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Richmond explained that constituency organisers would play a critical role in translating the party’s vision into practical action at the community level, adding that effective collaboration between regional and constituency leadership would be essential to achieving the desired results.
“I want to assure all the newly elected executives, particularly our constituency organisers, of my full commitment to working with you when I am elected as the Ashanti Regional Organizer of our great NDC,” he stated.
He added that his leadership would prioritise teamwork, grassroots engagement and the strengthening of constituency structures to position the party for electoral success.
Rally behind the party’s collective agenda
Mr. Richmond reiterated his congratulations to all elected constituency executives and urged them to approach their new responsibilities with dedication, humility and a strong sense of service to the party.
He said the period following the internal elections should be devoted to reconciliation, strategic planning and grassroots mobilisation rather than prolonged disagreements over the results.
He called on all NDC faithful in the Ashanti Region to unite behind the newly elected executives and work towards securing another overwhelming victory for the party in the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Richmond concluded by congratulating the successful candidates once again and encouraging those who were unsuccessful to remain committed to the party, stressing that the NDC’s collective success would depend on the willingness of all members to work together towards a common goal.
