Over two thousand supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have defected to the movement for change in Obuasi in the Ashanti region.
The defectees believes it is time to restore dignity to the country’s governance which has been consumed by corruption .
According to the leader of the group Yaw Oppong, their decision today is as a result of the expose at the ministry of Youth and Sports regarding payment of $3m plus to GBC which is turning out to be pure thievery as well as the alleged $15m expended only on food for athletes during the 13th All African Games held in Accra.
The group members are promising house to house, door to door and room to room campaign to ensure an emphatic victory for Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten in the December 7th General elections.
This development in Obuasi constituency has shaken the fundation of the NPP.
