The Running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, has urged voters in the Central Region to remain cautious of the enticing promises made by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Interacting with market women at Anomabo and Apam Junction, Professor Opoku Agyemang asked traders to question the NPP about its failed promises.
She said the NDC will continue to be truthful to Ghanaians, adding that the party will not promise what it cannot deliver. “They will come with sweet promises, but show them that you desire development and better livelihood,” she said.
Touching on market infrastructure which Anomabo currently lacks, she reminded the traders that the next NDC government will build all major modern markets across the country citing the Kejetia and the Kotokuraba markets as examples.
She explained that the Anomabo market project was initiated by the previous NDC government before leaving office, however, the Akuffo Addo has abandoned it leaving traders with no option other than to sell along the highway.
Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang assured traders in the central region that the next NDC government will complete the market project and improve the welfare of traders and small scare business operators through various interventions such as the establishment of a women’s development Bank.
“we know how to do it because we have done it before, and shall do it again, she assured traders and residents.
The market women applauded Professor Opoku Agyemang’s message, saying they are tired of the NPP’s broken promises.
“We’ve heard enough promises from the NPP,” one trader said. “We want a party that will deliver, and we believe the NDC is that party.”
Professor Opoku Agyemang has been campaigning in the Central Region. She has been interacting with voters, listening to their concerns, and outlining the NDC’s vision for a brighter future for Ghana.
