In a vibrant display of culture and unity, the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana brought “Ghana Month” to life with a spectacular celebration.
The annual event, filled with colourful traditions, music and dance, highlighted the country’s diverse cultural heritage and reaffirmed the church’s commitment to fostering national pride and togetherness.

“We wanted to celebrate our Ghanaian identity and showcase the beauty of our cultural diversity,” said Rev. Lambon Aaron Fant, Senior Pastor of the Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church.
“We believe that our cultural heritage is a source of strength and unity, and we want to promote that unity among our members and the wider community,” he added.

With this vision in mind, the church’s celebration of “Ghana Month” designated by the government brought together church members, dignitaries and community members, all adorned in vibrant traditional attire representing various ethnic groups across Ghana.
The event featured an impressive display of traditional music, dance and art, creating a colourful and immersive experience. Members proudly showcased the unique customs of different ethnic groups including the Dagomba, Gonja, Frafra and Mamprusi traditions of the North as well as the Akan, Ewe, and Ga culture from the South.

A key highlight of the event was the grand exhibition of traditional foods and drinks, where attendees had the opportunity to share and enjoy popular dishes from different parts of the country.
The event was widely praised for its role in fostering national pride and inclusivity.
“It was a wonderful event”, said Haruna Issahaku, a church member. “I was amazed by the rich cultural diversity on display. It was a truly Ghanaian experience.
