The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has responded with outrage to reports that one of his key associates was arrested in connection with a market burning incident.
According to a report by Joy News, the associate was allegedly contracted to burn down a market in the Ashanti Region. However, Chairman Wontumi has vehemently denied any involvement in the incident and has described the reports as “nonsense” and “baseless”.
Speaking in an interview, with movementtvonline, Chairman Wontumi expressed his disappointment and frustration with the reports, stating that they were nothing but a smear campaign aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
“I know nothing about this market burning incident,” Chairman Wontumi said.
“The reports are false, and I challenge anyone with evidence to come forward. These are baseless allegations,” he fumed.
“This is not the first time I’ve been targeted with false reports. But I assure you, I will not be intimidated”, he said.
