Asante Kotoko secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in today’s Ghana Premier League Week Nine clash.
Morifing Donzo’s coolly taken penalty just before halftime proved to be the match-winner at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak pushed hard for an equalizer and thought they had found one late in the game, but the goal was ruled out for offside — sparking heated protests from the home fans.
The defeat ends Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten run this season, while Kotoko celebrated a massive away win in Ghana’s biggest football rivalry.
