Chief Sofo Awudu Azorka has issued a stern warning to Minority Leader Afenyo Markin, cautioning that any provocative actions could lead to a byelection in Markin’s constituency.
The warning follows reports that supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), allegedly led by Afenyo Markin himself, were involved in tearing down National Democratic Congress (NDC) posters at the party’s constituency office.
Addressing the media, Chief Azorka did not hold back, saying if he and his supporters encountered Afenyo Markin and his team in person, the confrontation would be intense.
“Walayi, if I came to meet Afenyo here, we would conduct a byelection in his constituency,” he remarked emphatically.
He added, “He’s lucky we didn’t come to meet him here.”
When asked what prompted his visit, Chief Azorka explained that he heard about the NPP supporters allegedly removing NDC posters from their office.
Although Azorka admitted that NDC members promptly forced the NPP members not to destroy their posters.
He concluded with a strong message, “We will hold a byelection in Afenyo Markin’s constituency. Here is not Parliament oo; this is a free and fair battleground.”
