Former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Fuseini, has expressed dissatisfaction with the Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene’s two-week ultimatum for illegal miners operating in forests and river bodies to vacate or face forceful eviction.
The ultimatum, issued by Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has received widespread praise from Ghanaians as a bold step in tackling illegal mining.
However, Inusah Fuseini, a senior member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), holds a different view.
Speaking on the directive, on Joy news file monited by Kumasu Mail Fuseini questioned why criminals should be give two go stop criminal activities.
” I’m highly disappointed in the Ashanti Regional Minister if some one dificate in youf backyard you don’t give that person enough time to take his things away. Instantly you make sure the person take his things from your place” he said.
He said the approach the Ashanti Regional minister has adopted is not good.
“You don’t do that when you wanted fight criminals. It will show weakness in you and the people will exploit that weakness in you” he said.
However, indirectly responding to the concern of former minister of land and natural resource, the Ashanti regional minister on his official Facebook page post said, ” You may disagree with approach but you will love the outcome ” he said.
